A popular route to the icon west coast and the isles starts with Glasgow to Balloch on Loch Lomond...

Balloch is an enchanting village on the south-west shores of Loch Lomond and easily accessible from Glasgow.

Balloch is often referred to as the gateway to the Loch Lomond and the Trosschs National Park. It has excellent road and rail links from Glasgow which make it a popular place to visit for a day trip or longer break and a good place to start exploring the National Park.

Loch Lomond Shores is a wonderful place to visit, offering a wide range of indoor, outdoor and water-based activities alongside fantastic shopping and dining for all the family. Have a thrilling day out at Treezone, an aerial adventure course, or watch a variety of magnificent species at the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre. The restored paddle steamer, the Maid of the Loch, is in residence here, moored at Balloch Pier.

Balloch to Oban via Inverary...

Inverary is a picturesque coastal town and home to the 13th Duke of Argyll.

Established in 1745 by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, head of the powerful Clan Campbell, the town is an absolute set piece of Scottish Georgian architecture. Key buildings that are worth visiting include the neoclassical church, and Inveraray Jail and courthouse, now an award-winning museum that graphically recounts prison conditions from medieval times up until the 19th century.

A short walk north of the New Town, the neo-Gothic Inveraray Castle remains the family home of the Dukes of Argyll. The castle is set in extensive grounds which contain a number of marked walks, the most strenuous of which rises over 800 feet to the tower atop Dun Na Cuaiche from where there is a spectacular view over the castle, town and loch.

Oban, its name derives from the Gaelic language and means 'little bay', but when it comes to having an unforgettable weekend break, Oban is definitely a place which is big on things to see and do.

Oban to Fort William via Glencoe...

Glencoe located within the awe-inspiring Lochaber Geopark in the Highlands, the deep valley and towering mountains of Glen Coe were carved out centuries ago by icy glaciers and volcanic explosions.

Fort William sandy beaches and dramatic hills to iconic films locations, castles and distilleries, there are plenty of things to do in Fort William. Take your time and explore the natural wonders of Lochaber, breathe the fresh mountain air and marvel at some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You could climb Britain's highest mountain Ben Nevis.

Fort William to Skye...

Fort William to Skye via Arisaig and the silver sands of Morar. This route takes you onto the south end of Skye via the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Mallaig giving you the option of a circular trip leaving Skye using the bridge at Kyleakin.

The Silver Sands of Morar are a celebrated series of beautiful sandy beaches, which pepper the coastline from Arisaig to Morar.

Excellent hire from start to finish! Ian was very responsive to questions about the motorhome and even offered some suggestions on our proposed route. He was very thorough during the handover process and was easy to contact a couple of days into our trip when we had questions. The motorhome itself was immaculate and exactly as described. The hire came with everything we needed including kitchenware, appliances, and outdoor tables and chairs. We would happily hire this mortorhome from Ian again.
